DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Police on Thursday arrested Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Amin Gandapur in Dera Ismail Khan.
Police arrested the senior PTI leader outside the High Court bench of Dera Ismail Khan. Police shifted the firebrand PTI leader to unknown place for interrogation.
Lawyer of Ali Amin Gandapur claimed that his client got bails in all the cases registered against him. He said that they did not know in which case police arrested Gandapur.
Former federal minister Ali Amin Gandapur was shifted to undisclosed location by police team after hours-long presence in the high court. He remained at the premises of the high court for almost 4 to 5 hours.
In April, Bhakkar District Police Officer (DPO) Mohammad Naveed said that the arms seized at Dajjal check post were destined to PTI chairman Imran Khan’s residence in Zaman Park.
DPO Naveed said that the accused were shifting the weapons to Punjab capital in the name of a security company.
Seized arms were allegedly intended for PTI chairman Imran Khan’s residence, according to DPO Bhakkar. The accused were attempting to transfer the arms to Lahore under a private security company’s name, said District Police Officer Mohammad Naveed.
Although the security company provided licenses for 13 rifles, licenses for nine were not provided. The accused Ijaz confessed that the unlicensed arms were destined for Zaman Park and kept at Gandapur’s place, according to the DPO. Gandapur was also reported to have caused disturbance at Dajjal check post earlier, according to police.
