The Pakistan Meteorological Department has issued a warning of significantly higher-than-normal temperatures across large parts of the country, signaling intensifying heatwave conditions in the coming days.
According to the Met Office, southern and central regions of Punjab are likely to record temperatures 3 to 5°C above seasonal averages. Cities including Dera Ghazi Khan, Multan, Sargodha, and Lahore are expected to see maximum temperatures exceeding 40°C.
In Sindh and parts of Balochistan, temperatures are forecast to remain 2 to 4°C above normal. The district of Dadu could see temperatures climb as high as 46°C, while Nawabshah and Sukkur are expected to reach around 45°C.
In Karachi, conditions will remain hot and humid, with temperatures likely to peak at around 37°C, adding to discomfort levels due to high humidity.
Authorities are advising citizens to take precautionary measures, including avoiding direct sunlight during peak hours, staying hydrated, and limiting outdoor activities where possible.
The rising temperatures highlight the growing intensity of seasonal heat, with officials urging the public to remain cautious as the heatwave persists.
