Saudi Arabia Warns Iran of ‘Huge Loss’ if Escalation Widens

Saudi Arabia has issued a strong warning to Iran, stating that Tehran could face “huge losses” if the current regional tensions continue to escalate.

Saudi Foreign Ministry Statement

According to the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Iran’s actions toward the Kingdom and other Gulf states do not reflect wisdom or a genuine intention to avoid a wider conflict.

The ministry said Iran’s ongoing attacks represent a dangerous escalation that could have serious consequences for present and future relations across the region.

Rejection of Iranian President’s Claims

Saudi authorities also rejected remarks made by Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian, who had claimed that Tehran had no intention of targeting neighbouring countries.

Riyadh said Iran’s statements have not been matched by actions, adding that attacks have continued despite such assurances.

Denial of Involvement in Conflict

Saudi Arabia dismissed allegations that fighter jets and aerial refuelling aircraft operating from its territory were participating in the conflict.

The ministry clarified that these aircraft are conducting defensive patrols to protect the airspace of Saudi Arabia and members of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) from Iranian missiles and drones.

Concern Over Civilian Infrastructure Attacks

Saudi officials said attacks on civilian infrastructure, including airports and oil facilities, demonstrate an attempt to threaten regional security and stability.

The Kingdom stated such actions violate international law and global conventions.

Strong Condemnation

Saudi Arabia reiterated its strong condemnation of Iranian attacks targeting:

  • The Kingdom
  • GCC member states
  • Several Arab and Islamic countries
  • Allied nations in the region

Officials warned that further escalation could destabilize the Middle East and worsen diplomatic relations.
