A fresh petition has been filed in the Supreme Court of Pakistan seeking the transfer of Imran Khan from Adiala Jail to a private hospital in Islamabad for medical treatment.
According to media reports, the miscellaneous application has been submitted in the apex court in connection with the main Toshakhana criminal case. The plea has been moved under Rule 35(6) of the Supreme Court Rules, 2025, requesting urgent relief on medical grounds.
The petitioner has asked the court to direct authorities to shift Imran Khan to Al-Shifa International Hospital for comprehensive medical evaluation and treatment. The application further seeks permission for his personal physicians to examine him and oversee his care. It also requests that family members be allowed to remain present during medical consultations and procedures.
The plea highlights concerns regarding the former prime minister’s health and argues that appropriate facilities and specialist care are required, which, according to the petitioner, may not be adequately available inside the jail.
The development comes amid ongoing legal proceedings in the Toshakhana case. A two-member bench of the Supreme Court had earlier adjourned hearings in the matter until the high court announces its final verdict.
The court is expected to decide whether to take up the application for immediate hearing in light of the medical concerns raised in the petition.
