A video circulating widely on social media has sparked public anger after personnel of Islamabad Dolphin Squad were allegedly seen assaulting a husband and wife in the federal capital.
According to police sources, the incident occurred in Sector F-8 of Islamabad, where the couple was reportedly stopped by Dolphin Squad officers outside their residence. The officials asked the pair to present their national identity cards for verification.
Authorities said tensions escalated quickly, leading to a heated verbal confrontation between the couple and the officers. During the exchange, the personnel allegedly manhandled both individuals, an act that was captured on video and later shared online.
Following the video’s rapid spread and mounting criticism, the Inspector General of Islamabad Police took immediate notice of the matter and ordered disciplinary action.
The officers accused of misconduct have since been suspended from duty pending a formal inquiry. Police officials stated that a thorough investigation is underway and assured that appropriate action will be taken based on the findings.
The incident has reignited debate over police conduct and accountability, with many social media users calling for transparent proceedings and strict measures if the allegations are proven.
