Six Killed as Car Collides with Trailer on Sindh Highway

Tragedy struck on the National Highway in Sindh’s Naushahro Feroze District on Monday morning, as a collision between a car and a trailer claimed the lives of six people.

According to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mir Rohal Khoso, the victims were traveling in the car, while the trailer driver sustained injuries in the crash. The accident occurred between 5:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and preliminary investigations suggest that speeding and possible brake failure may have contributed to the incident.

SSP Khoso also noted that ongoing construction on one side of the highway may have been a factor in the accident, highlighting the risks posed to drivers in affected areas. To curb the rise in highway accidents, authorities plan to establish five checkpoints along the route to monitor vehicle speed and roadworthiness in coordination with the motorway police.

Sindh Inspector General of Police, Javed Alam Odho, directed SSP Khoso to conduct a thorough investigation and file a case, while emphasizing that legal action should be taken against those found responsible.

Highway accidents remain a persistent concern in Pakistan, with speeding, reckless overtaking, and violations of traffic rules frequently contributing to fatal crashes.
