ISLAMABAD: Popular YouTuber Rajab Butt and TikToker Nadeem Naniwala have approached the Islamabad High Court (IHC) seeking the removal of a travel ban that currently prevents them from going abroad.
In their petitions, both influencers argued that placing their names on the government’s travel ban list was unjustified and had caused serious damage to their professional activities, including work-related travel and international collaborations.
The petitions were filed by Barrister Raja Qadeer and Ahad Khokhar, requesting the court to issue orders directing authorities to strike the names of Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala off the travel ban list. The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), the Interior Secretary, and other relevant departments have been named as respondents in the case.
According to reports, the IHC is expected to schedule hearings soon, during which the court will examine the legal grounds for the travel restrictions and decide whether to allow the two social media personalities to travel abroad.
Meanwhile, a Lahore Sessions Court had earlier extended the interim bail of Rajab Butt and Nadeem Naniwala in a gambling-app promotion case until February 16, providing them temporary relief in the ongoing legal proceedings.
The case has drawn attention within digital media circles, as it raises questions about regulatory oversight of online influencers and restrictions affecting their mobility and professional work.
