Court asks how Ducky Bhai accessed YouTube account if devices still in NCCIA custody
A Lahore court has questioned how popular YouTuber Saadur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, has been accessing his YouTube channel despite his electronic devices remaining in the custody of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA). The query came during a hearing on his application seeking the return of his seized ATM cards, mobile phone, and other electronic equipment.
Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo presided over the proceedings and directed the NCCIA to submit a detailed report regarding the status of the seized items by December 15. The court raised the question after the NCCIA’s lawyer submitted that the investigation officer assigned to the case was currently in Islamabad and had not yet received the case file from the previous IO, Shoaib Riaz.
The magistrate asked Ducky Bhai’s counsel to explain how the YouTuber managed to access or upload new content on the platform if the primary devices were still sealed in NCCIA custody. In response, the defence lawyer clarified that the main account was indeed with the authorities, and the recent uploads were made using an editor’s secondary access. He argued that the application strictly pertained to the return of the content creator’s electronic devices and four credit cards, which he said his client urgently required.
The court was informed that the NCCIA needed additional time to compile and file its report. Accepting the request, the magistrate adjourned the hearing until December 15.
The case has continued to draw interest online, especially after Ducky Bhai’s first post-bail vlog crossed more than 11 million views, sparking debates about revenue, online influence, and the integrity of digital investigations.
