CDF Asim Munir says Pakistan confronts its enemies openly, unlike India
ISLAMABAD: Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir has said that Pakistan confronts its enemies openly and with courage, unlike India, which he accused of relying on terrorism and covert tactics. Addressing the National Ulema and Mashayikh Conference in Islamabad, he declared that terrorism is India’s way, not Pakistan’s, and affirmed that the country does not attack from hiding but challenges its opponents face-to-face.
Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the spiritual and ideological connection between the State of Madinah and the State of Pakistan, saying that Pakistan carries an exceptional responsibility among Muslim nations. He emphasised that Pakistan has been honoured with the duty of protecting the Haramain, describing the defence agreement with Saudi Arabia as a milestone in the country’s strategic relations.
He warned that nations which abandon knowledge, scholarship, and intellectual growth eventually fall into disorder, remarking that division and ignorance weaken societies. He said honour and strength are earned through education, unity, and hard work, not through conflict among the people.
Reiterating that terrorism has never been Pakistan’s doctrine, the field marshal said Pakistan’s fight has always been transparent and principled. He added that victory in what he termed the “battle of truth” comes only with the help of God.
Asim Munir noted that in an Islamic state, no individual or group has the authority to declare jihad, stressing that this power lies solely with the state. He called on religious scholars to promote unity, widen Pakistan’s national outlook, and steer the nation away from divisive narratives. He concluded his address with the words: “Long live Pakistan.”
