Aroob Jatoi’s pre-arrest bail in gambling apps case
A sessions court on Tuesday extended the interim pre-arrest bail of Aroob Jatoi, wife of popular YouTuber Saad ur Rehman — widely known as Ducky Bhai — in a high-profile case related to the alleged promotion of online gambling applications. The hearing was conducted by Additional District and Sessions Judge Mansoor Ahmed Qureshi, who reviewed her petition after the earlier bail period had expired.
Jatoi appeared before the court, but the prosecution failed to produce the case file, prompting the judge to grant her further relief. The court then directed the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) to submit the complete case record by December 22, warning that unnecessary delays would not be tolerated in such matters.
According to her petition, the NCCIA “wrongfully added her name to the case,” with Jatoi insisting she had no involvement and did not support her husband in any activity linked to the alleged promotion of gambling apps. Her counsel argued that the charges were baseless and that she was being dragged into the matter without evidence.
Ducky Bhai, who was arrested earlier this year in connection with the same case, was released last week after a Lahore High Court bench approved his post-arrest bail. His arrest had triggered a major debate on cybercrime laws, online content regulation, and the accountability of digital influencers in Pakistan.
