PTI Founder Receiving Enhanced B-Class Facilities in Adiala Jail: Superintendent
RAWALPINDI: The administration of Adiala Jail has clarified that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan is receiving enhanced B-Class facilities, surpassing the standard privileges usually given to B-Class inmates.
In an official statement, the Superintendent of Adiala Jail detailed that Imran Khan has been provided with a secure seven-cell complex complete with an open courtyard for daily exercise and fresh air.
High-End Jail Facilities
The former prime minister’s B-Class privileges include access to an exercise cycle, an LED television, daily newspapers, and books of his choice. To ensure his comfort, a specially assigned prisoner-cook prepares his breakfast, lunch, and dinner according to his personal preferences.
Medical staff conduct thorough health checks three times daily, with the latest reports confirming that Imran Khan’s health is stable and all vital signs are within normal range, the jail authorities added.
Regular Meetings and Media Access
In the last three months, Imran Khan has received 66 visitors, including family members, lawyers, and party leaders. While behind bars, he has issued over 413 tweets through his team and has appeared in 45 news stories.
The PTI founder has also interacted with 10 major international media outlets, such as Reuters, ITV, and The Wall Street Journal, highlighting his continued political influence despite being in custody.
No Mistreatment Claims
The Adiala Jail administration strongly denied rumours of mistreatment or solitary confinement, calling such claims baseless and politically motivated. Authorities reiterated that Khan’s enhanced B-Class facilities comply with legal standards, and his security, health, and legal rights are fully protected under Pakistan’s prison regulations.
Conflicting Claims by Aleema Khan
However, Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan has contradicted the official account, claiming the PTI founder and his wife Bushra Bibi are enduring harsh conditions at Adiala Jail. She conveyed what she described as two key messages from her brother, who has allegedly warned the party’s leadership to avoid internal conflicts amid his imprisonment.
