Bollywood actress and model Malaika Arora’s father, Anil Arora, tragically died by suicide on September 11 in Mumbai. According to a report by ANI, Mumbai Police confirmed that he “jumped off the terrace of his building.”
Anil Arora had been separated from his wife, Joyce Polycarp, for several years, but they continued to co-parent their daughters, Malaika and Amrita. Malaika was 11 years old when they separated.
In a statement to ANI, Mumbai Police said, “The father of actress-model Malaika Arora died by suicide after jumping off a terrace. A police team is present at the location.” The incident took place around 9 AM, India time.
Authorities have sent the body for a post-mortem examination, and an investigation is underway.
Reports indicate that Malaika Arora’s ex-husband, actor Arbaaz Khan, is currently with the family during this difficult time. Malaika, who was reportedly in Pune, is now on her way to Mumbai.
