Renowned American writer and activist Jeffery Shaun King and his wife Rai King embraced Islam at the beginning of Ramadan 2024.
In a live broadcast on Instagram, Professor Khaled Beydoun shared a video showing Shaun and Rai King declaring the Shahadah with the assistance of Sheikh Omar Suleiman.
Jeffery Shaun King, born in 1979, is an American writer and activist known for using social media to support social justice causes, including the Black Lives Matter movement. Originally from Kentucky, he graduated from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia, and later became a pastor, founding the Courageous Church in Atlanta in 2008.
On December 25, Shaun’s Instagram account was reportedly banned, allegedly due to his outspoken support for Palestine during the ongoing conflict with Israel.
Shaun, who has over six million followers, expressed frustration with Instagram’s decision to ban him for advocating for Palestinian rights and dignity.
