PTI Vows to Challenge Imran Khan’s Conviction in Toshakhana Case After Arrest

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Vice Chairman, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, has strongly rejected the conviction and arrest of Chairman Imran Khan in the Toshakhana case, stating that the ruling by the trial court was premeditated and politically motivated.

Qureshi expressed his concerns over the arrest of his party leader and questioned whether Imran Khan, at the age of 70, was offered a fair trial as guaranteed by Article 10(1) of the Constitution, which promises justice to every citizen. He emphasized the importance of impartiality, adequate representation, and the presentation of witnesses before the jury in delivering justice. Qureshi raised doubts about the judge’s ability to remain unbiased, considering Imran Khan’s previous expressions of mistrust towards the judiciary.

The vice chairman was troubled by the speed at which the decision was announced, particularly on a weekend, and the prompt arrival of the police to take Imran Khan into custody. He questioned whether the police had prior knowledge of the verdict and its nature.

Rejecting the court’s verdict, Qureshi stated that PTI would exercise its right to challenge the decision in higher judiciary. The party’s core committee would devise its next course of action in a meeting. He assured that PTI would use all legal means to defend Imran Khan and fight for justice.

Senior PTI leader, Ali Mohammad Khan, echoed the concerns of Qureshi and hoped for Imran Khan’s swift release. He expressed disappointment, claiming that the PTI chairman did not receive a fair trial.

Qureshi emphasized the need for justice to be served transparently and fairly. PTI remains committed to defending Imran Khan’s rights and will pursue all legal avenues to challenge the conviction. The nation watches closely as the party seeks justice through the available judicial channels.

However, it is essential to remember that legal matters require a thorough examination by the courts. The outcome of any legal challenge will be determined through the proper legal process, and the final decision will be based on the evidence and arguments presented in court.
