Maulana Fazlur Rehman departs for Thailand trip

  • Maulana Fazlur Rehman leaves for a tour to Thailand

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, the leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F), initiated a seven-day trip to Thailand on Saturday.

According to JUI-F sources, his visit primarily focuses on organizational activities and meetings with scholars in Thailand. During his stay, Maulana Fazl, who also heads the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM), intends to connect with the Pakistani community residing in Thailand. Joining him on this foreign excursion are Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro and Mufti Abrar, as stated by the aforementioned sources.

Maulana Fazl is scheduled to conclude his visit and return to Pakistan on June 2. As a prominent figure in Pakistani politics and the chief of the PDM, Maulana Fazlur Rehman sees this trip as an opportunity to engage with the Pakistani diaspora in Thailand and garner support for the PDM’s objectives. The PDM is a coalition of opposition parties that have joined forces to challenge the ruling government and advocate for democratic reforms.

The interaction with scholars during his visit is another significant aspect of Maulana Fazl’s itinerary. Engaging in dialogue and seeking counsel from learned individuals can provide valuable insights and perspectives on various issues, contributing to the formulation of informed decisions and strategies within the JUI-F. Such exchanges of knowledge and ideas can play a crucial role in shaping the party’s policies and future direction.

Furthermore, Maulana Fazl’s visit to Thailand also serves as a means to strengthen ties with the Pakistani community residing in the country. Connecting with the diaspora is a vital aspect of maintaining cultural and emotional bonds with Pakistani nationals living abroad. It allows for the exchange of experiences, addressing concerns, and providing support to fellow citizens who may face unique challenges in a foreign land.

The inclusion of Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro and Mufti Abrar in Maulana Fazl’s delegation adds significance to the visit. Their presence suggests a collaborative approach, involving key members of the JUI-F, in engaging with Thai scholars, the Pakistani community, and potentially exploring avenues for international cooperation.
