Khawaja Muhammad Asif pays homage to martyrs of the armed forces

On Friday, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, the Federal Minister for Defence, visited Ganj-e-Shuhada Mustafabad in Kasur to pay tribute to the martyrs of the armed forces. During his visit, he laid floral wreaths on the graves of the martyrs and offered prayers for the elevation of their ranks, particularly those who lost their lives in the 1965 war. The memorial at Ganj-e-Shuhada Mustafabad commemorates the victorious martyrs of the Battle of Khem Karan during the 1965 war.

As part of the “Estehkam-e-Pakistan Rally,” the defence minister also participated in a rally that began in Khudian and concluded at Ganj-e-Shuhada Mustafabad. The rally aimed to show solidarity with the armed forces of the country Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, Malik Ahmad Khan, MNA Malik Muhammad Rasheed Khan, MPA Malik Ahmad Saeed, and a large number of people participated in the event.

During his address at the rally, Khawaja Muhammad Asif highlighted the remarkable achievements of the Pakistan armed forces during the 1965 war at the Khem Karan border. He praised the bravery of the armed forces’ martyrs who valiantly defended the motherland. The defense minister emphasized that the sacrifices made by the armed forces had made the defense of the country invincible.

Khawaja Muhammad Asif stated that the leaders of Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), including Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, had demonstrated their love for the motherland and the Constitution through their patriotism and actions. He expressed confidence that the PML-N would emerge victorious in the upcoming general elections, as the party always respected the law and the Constitution.

The defence minister accused Imran Khan, the chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), of planning the incidents that occurred on May 9 and launching attacks on various installations through meticulous planning.

Addressing the crowd, SAPM Muhammad Ahmad Khan mentioned that the people had rejected those involved in attacking important installations of the country. He observed that there was an overwhelming display of love, respect, and honor for the armed forces. He acknowledged the significant sacrifices made by the armed forces for the defense and integrity of the country.

The SAPM further added that the violent groups deliberately targeted installations, memorials, symbols, and residences of institutions in an organized manner on May 9.
