KARACHI: Karachi on Sunday witnessed a series of violent incidents resulting in the loss of lives and injuries. Five people were killed in separate firing incidents in different areas of the city.
In Gulshan-e-Surjani, unknown gunmen targeted a vehicle, killing two people on the spot. Meanwhile, in Gulshan Ghazi area of Baldia Town, a woman named Noreen Bibi was shot dead by her mentally unstable brother-in-law, Rafafat Ali.
Another incident occurred in DHA Phase 6 Khayaban-e-Hilal, where a woman accidentally shot herself while cleaning a gun, leading to her death. Her body was taken to Jinnah Hospital.
A wedding ceremony in Malir 15 area turned into a tragic event as one person named Arsalan was killed in firing. The main suspect, Raza, has been arrested in connection with the incident.
In Gulistan-e-Johar Block 15, a person was seriously injured in firing near the power house, and in Orangi Town Gulshan Bihar, a citizen was injured while resisting a robbery attempt.
The police also took action and recovered weapons from the water pump area, although the suspects managed to escape.
Such incidents of violence and loss of lives are a cause of concern for the citizens of Karachi, who are already dealing with a challenging law and order situation. The authorities need to take concrete measures to ensure the safety and security of the people and bring the perpetrators of these crimes to justice.
