YouTuber Rajab Butt gets 10-day transit bail after UK visa cancellation

YouTuber Rajab Butt gets 10-day transit bail from the Islamabad High Court (IHC) after his return from the United Kingdom, where his visa was cancelled for nondisclosure of legal cases registered against him in Pakistan. The court also approved the same relief for TikToker Nadeem Naniwala, with both men barred from arrest during this period, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Rajab Butt arrived at Islamabad airport earlier in the day following his deportation from the UK. His British visa, which had been valid until 2027, was revoked by the UK Home Department after officials confirmed that he had concealed ongoing criminal cases back home — a major violation of immigration regulations that resulted in immediate expulsion.

During the hearing, presided over by Justice Inaam Ameen Minhas, the court reviewed multiple cases registered against the accused, including those related to gambling applications, cybercrime allegations, and other matters filed while the two content creators were abroad. The petitioner’s counsel requested 15 days of transit bail, arguing that a key case was pending in Karachi. Justice Minhas instead granted 10 days, directing the accused to present themselves before the relevant court in Karachi within that timeframe.

The court’s order explicitly restrains law-enforcement agencies from arresting Rajab Butt or Nadeem Naniwala during the 10-day window. Both individuals had previously obtained protective bail upon their earlier return to Pakistan, but several cases — particularly those involving cybercrime — remain active.

Sources confirmed that the British authorities terminated Butt’s visa after determining that he had failed to disclose a case registered under Section 259 in Pakistan. The UK Home Office issued a formal written notice to him stating that nondisclosure of active legal matters constituted grounds for visa cancellation under British immigration laws.

The development marks the latest legal challenge for the YouTuber duo, who continue to face investigations in multiple jurisdictions. More updates are expected as the two appear before courts in Karachi as directed.
