“YDA Karachi Chapter Vows to Boycott Medical Institutions in Wake of Dr. Birbal’s Killing”

Young Doctors Association (YDA) Karachi Chapter has threatened to boycott all medical institutions if the police fail to arrest the killers of Dr. Birbal Genani. Dr. Genani was an eye surgeon and a former director of the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), who was recently targeted in a heinous gun attack by unidentified assailants. The incident occurred on the Garden Lyari Expressway when Dr. Genani was travelling in a vehicle with Dr. Quratul Ain, who was also injured in the attack.

YDA held a meeting at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) in Karachi, where the office-bearers announced three days of mourning after Dr. Genani’s death. They demanded that the Inspector General (IG) Sindh take immediate action to arrest the perpetrators, failing which they would boycott all medical sectors. YDA has given the police 48 hours to apprehend the culprits responsible for the murder.

Dr. Genani was a well-respected ophthalmologist who had worked at the Spencer Eye Hospital and ran a private clinic in the Ranchore Line area of Karachi. He was known for his dedication to his profession and his contributions to the medical community. His untimely death has left a void in the medical fraternity and sparked outrage among doctors.

Dr. Quratul Ain, who was injured in the attack, was immediately shifted to Civil Hospital for medical assistance. The police also transferred Dr. Genani’s body to the same hospital for formal procedures. The assailants managed to escape from the scene after the attack, and the police are currently investigating the incident. The crime scene unit was called to collect evidence, and initial reports suggest that it was a target-killing incident.

The YDA Karachi chapter threat to boycott all medical sectors is a severe one, as it will severely impact the healthcare system in Karachi. The YDA is an essential organization that represents young doctors and their interests. If they carry out their threat, it will cause a significant disruption in medical services, which will directly affect patients in need of medical attention.

The incident has once again highlighted the security issues faced by medical professionals in Pakistan. Doctors have been targeted in various parts of the country, and their safety has been a constant concern for the medical fraternity. The government and law enforcement agencies need to take decisive action to ensure the safety of medical professionals and address the security concerns of the medical community.

The incident has also highlighted the need for greater security measures for medical professionals. Doctors, nurses, and other healthcare workers are at risk of violence from disgruntled patients or their families, who may blame them for the poor outcome of a medical procedure. The government and healthcare institutions need to take steps to improve the security of medical facilities and ensure the safety of medical professionals.

The medical profession is one of the noblest professions, and doctors are the backbone of any healthcare system. They play a vital role in the well-being of society, and their safety and security should be of paramount importance. The YDA Karachi chapter call for a boycott of all medical sectors is a wake-up call for the government and law enforcement agencies to take swift action to address the security concerns of medical professionals.
