Dubai has set a new world record for the most expensive number plate sold at a charity auction. The auction, organized by Emirates Auction in support of the “1 Billion Meals Endowment” campaign, saw the number plate P7 sell for a staggering Dhs55 million.
The proceeds from the sale will contribute to establishing the largest Ramadan sustainable food aid endowment fund. The P7 plate entered the Guinness Book of Records as the most expensive number plate in the world, while other plates and mobile numbers were also sold for record amounts.
The auction was launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and included several special vehicle plate numbers and other special plate numbers. Prominent figures from various businesses and charities participated in the auction to support initiatives that embrace humanitarian causes.
The proceeds of the Most Noble Numbers charity auction will help provide a food safety net for underprivileged populations and send a message of hope and solidarity to those in need.
