Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli has rejected claims that he earns a lot of money from his posts on Instagram. He said the reports were not true.
A company called Hopper HQ, which works in social media marketing, made a list of rich people on Instagram. They said Kohli is the third richest sports player on Instagram. They said he earns a huge $1,384,000 (around ₹11.45 crore) for each post he makes on the website where people share pictures and videos.
But the famous Indian cricketer said this is not accurate.
“I’m thankful for everything I have in life, but the news that people are talking about regarding my earnings from social media is false,” he wrote on a website called X, which is a platform where people can share short posts. This website used to be called Twitter.
Kohli is one of four sportspeople on a list of 25 famous people from around the world. At the top of the list is Cristiano Ronaldo from Portugal. In second place is Lionel Messi, a football player from Argentina.
On this list, Kohli is ranked number 14 overall, but he is the third richest sports player. Another sportsman on the list is Neymar Jr., a football player from Brazil. He is the fourth richest on the list when it comes to earnings from social media.
