Pakistani actress Urwa Hussain has strongly condemned comments made by actor and host Fahad Mustafa regarding senior actress Atiqa Odho, calling the remarks inappropriate and disrespectful.
Taking to Instagram, Urwa expressed disappointment over what she described as age-shaming directed at a veteran artist. She wrote that it was disheartening to see a celebrated figure behave in such a manner toward an actress of Atiqa Odho’s stature and contribution to the industry.
Urwa further mentioned that Odho had once starred as a leading heroine opposite Humayun Saeed and said it was unfortunate that respected names were being dragged into controversy due to what she termed the host’s arrogant behaviour. She urged Fahad Mustafa to issue an apology, stressing that individuals on influential platforms should act responsibly.
The controversy began after Atiqa Odho, during an appearance on a private television show, suggested that Fahad Mustafa had reached a phase in his career where he should consider working opposite actresses closer to his own age.
Responding in what he described as a light-hearted manner, Fahad remarked that if Odho were to undergo “two or four more good surgeries,” he and his contemporaries could play her on-screen heroes. The comment quickly drew criticism on social media, with many calling it inappropriate.
The exchange has since sparked debate within the entertainment industry, with fans and fellow celebrities weighing in on issues of respect, ageism, and professionalism in showbiz.
