Two arrested for murdering co-worker in Karachi

KARACHI: Two suspects have been apprehended by the police for the alleged murder of a co-worker at a farmhouse in Bakhshapur, Karachi. On April 30, the police received a call from a man named Anas, who reported that a thief had been shot dead inside the farmhouse while trying to steal solar panels.

However, when the police arrived, they discovered a 20-year-old man named Muhammad Zubair lying in an injured and unconscious state.

The deceased was identified as the son of the farmhouse’s gatekeeper, Muhammad Yaseen. Yaseen claimed that his son was not a thief and that he had been murdered by Anas and another man named Raheem Bakhsh for unknown reasons. Yaseen stated that Zubair was on duty as a security guard at the farmhouse’s main gate when he was shot. Upon arriving at the scene after receiving a call from Anas, Yaseen and his family saw the two suspects standing near his injured son. Anas was holding a pistol while Raheem had a repeater. The suspects attempted to flee upon seeing Yaseen and his family.

However, Zubair was taken to a nearby private hospital, where he was declared dead upon arrival. The police have filed a case against both suspects under sections 302 (murder) and 34 (common intention) on Yaseen’s complaint. During questioning, the suspects admitted to the murder, but they claimed it was accidental. Nonetheless, the police found an empty 30 bore pistol at the scene of the crime, and the suspects later pointed out the murder weapon. They had initially tried to hide the body and frame Zubair in a fake robbery case.

According to SHO Akram Arain of Memon Goth police station Karachi, Pakistan. A medico-legal officer at Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre concluded that Zubair died due to excessive bleeding. The suspects are currently in police custody, and investigations are ongoing.

The incident underscores the importance of proper screening and background checks for individuals working in sensitive positions, such as security guards. Additionally, it serves as a reminder that false accusations and vigilantism have no place in society and only serve to further complicate matters. The police should be contacted immediately in the event of any criminal activity, and citizens should refrain from taking the law into their own hands.
