US President Donald Trump confirmed on Friday that he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15, 2025, in what could become one of the most closely watched diplomatic events of the year. The high-stakes summit comes as the war in Ukraine grinds on with no clear end in sight, and both leaders are expected to explore possible pathways to a long-term peace settlement.
