Police revealed that a truck carrying sacrificial goats was robbed near Kamran Chowrangi in Gulistan-e-Johar area of the city. According to the police, four suspects on a motorcycle approached the truck, which was transporting around 30 sacrificial goats. Two of the suspects forcibly removed the driver from the vehicle at gunpoint and then escaped with the truck.
The trader, Abdul Manan, who was transporting the goats from Hyderabad to Gulistan-e-Johar, became the victim of this unfortunate robbery. An investigation into the incident has been initiated after the trader filed a police report (FIR).
This incident occurred just days before Eid-ul-Adha. Robberies like this have become more frequent as the annual celebration approaches and people bring sacrificial animals home. This is not the first incident of its kind this year.
A few weeks ago, two similar incidents were reported in Lahore. In one instance, robbers snatched two goats from a young boy at gunpoint in Samanabad neighborhood. In another incident in Nishtar Colony, Lahore, muggers stole a goat from a citizen, but the police quickly arrested one of the suspects.
