Money trail, engagement photos presented in Samiya Hijab court hearing
ISLAMABAD: The case involving TikToker Samiya Hijab took a new turn on Saturday as the main accused, Hassan Zahid, was produced before the duty magistrate in Islamabad, where money trail records and engagement photographs were presented in court.
The hearing was conducted after the completion of Zahid’s five-day physical remand. Duty Magistrate Muhammad Azhar Nadeem approved another three-day remand upon the prosecution’s request. The defence challenged this move, arguing that the suspect was initially granted a two-day remand but was kept for five days before being brought to court. Lawyers for Zahid insisted that the discrepancy stemmed from a clerical error in the earlier remand order.
During the proceedings, Zahid’s lawyer submitted transaction history between the accused and Samiya Hijab, alongside video statements from her parents. Engagement photographs of the two were also presented, with the defence claiming that Samiya and Hassan were already engaged.
The prosecution stated that Rs45,000 had been recovered from the accused, but his vehicle and weapon were still to be seized, and his accomplices remained at large. Prosecutors sought an eight-day remand extension to complete the investigation, citing these missing links.
The defence countered that Zahid had been granted bail in one case but was arrested again under another FIR. They further alleged that Zahid was given fake receipts when he demanded repayment of money from Samiya Hijab. Police confirmed the case is registered at Shalimar police station in Islamabad.

Earlier, Samiya Hijab had expressed deep concerns about Hassan Zahid, stating that he would “definitely seek revenge” if released. She accused him of physically assaulting her, attempting kidnapping, and issuing repeated death threats after she rejected his marriage proposal.
Samiya said she has known Hassan Zahid for around six months but began distancing herself three months ago, particularly after the murder of fellow TikToker Sana Yousaf. She alleged that Zahid would bring Nikah papers and demand she sign them immediately, but she refused, saying she wanted a public marriage with her mother’s consent.
The TikToker also shared CCTV footage claiming it showed Zahid forcing her toward a white vehicle outside her residence in Islamabad. She has since taken to TikTok to warn about ongoing threats, saying his intimidation tactics continue to haunt her.
As the case unfolds, the court will resume hearing after police seek further evidence, including recovery of weapons, vehicles, and possible accomplices linked to the accused.
