Teenage Domestic Worker Found Dead in Karachi DHA Bungalow, Suicide Suspected
KARACHI: A teenage domestic worker was found dead inside a residence in Karachi’s Defence Housing Authority (DHA), police said on Friday.
According to law enforcement officials, the 17-year-old, identified as Nazeer Ahmed, was discovered hanging in the servant quarters of a bungalow located in DHA Phase VI. Police reached the site after receiving information about the incident.
A forensic team examined the scene and collected relevant evidence before the body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) to complete legal and medical formalities.
Officials at Darakhshan police station said efforts were underway to obtain footage from the house’s CCTV cameras to aid the investigation.
A police official stated that preliminary findings pointed towards suicide. He added that initial information suggested the teenager may have taken the extreme step due to personal or family-related issues.
Authorities said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the death.
