A food delivery rider was left critically injured after a high-speed car overturned and struck him in Defence Housing Authority on Sunday night.
According to police, the accident occurred on Khayaban-e-Ittehad within the limits of Sahil police station. CCTV footage of the incident has surfaced, capturing the dramatic sequence of events.
The video shows a fast-moving car approaching a traffic signal. In what appeared to be an attempt to avoid colliding with a motorcyclist ahead, the driver lost control of the vehicle. The car mounted the footpath, flipped over, and landed on the opposite side of the road before crashing into another motorcycle ridden by a food delivery worker.
The rider suffered severe injuries in the impact and was rushed to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre in critical condition.
Police identified the injured man as 32-year-old Farhan, son of Gul Zaman, a resident of Hijrat Colony. Officials confirmed that the vehicle involved was being driven at excessive speed at the time of the accident.
Two young men who were inside the overturned car fled the scene immediately after the crash. Authorities have taken the damaged vehicle into custody and launched a search operation to trace the suspects.
Media reports suggest that the individuals later escaped the area in a white double-cabin vehicle.
An investigation is underway as police examine CCTV footage and gather further evidence to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident.
