On Wednesday, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) reported that Vice Chairman Shah Mahmood Qureshi, recently granted bail by the Supreme Court in the cipher case, faced a new arrest outside Adiala Jail.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi has been arrested again from Adiala Jail. “The Supreme Court has released me on bail. This is an injustice; I am being punished for serving the nation.” Shah Mahmood Qureshi said, standing on the back of a moving car.
The PTI, in a statement on X, conveyed that the Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner’s order, issued the previous day, for the 15-day detention of the foreign minister under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO) Ordinance, had been revoked.
As of now, the police have not provided a response regarding the circumstances leading to the PTI leader’s arrest. The party also shared footage depicting Qureshi being placed inside a police van, and showed him being forcibly dragged into an armored police vehicle.
