Former wife of Imran Khan, Reham Khan, has taken to Twitter after the former Pakistani Prime Minister was arrested by Islamabad Police on Tuesday. However, she has stated that she is not available for comments and is busy with a special family event.
Imran Khan and Reham Khan had married in January 2015 but their marriage ended in divorce on Oct 30 the same year, with mutual consent. Imran Khan had tweeted that it was a “painful time” and that he had “the greatest respect for Reham’s moral character & her passion to work for & help the underprivileged”.

Reham Khan, a British Pakistani journalist and television anchor, has not commented on Imran Khan’s arrest. However, her silence on the matter has sparked speculation on social media, with many questioning her reaction to the situation.
Imran Khan, who was once a cricketing legend in Pakistan, won the country its only World Cup in 1992. His sporting prowess and rugged good looks brought him international celebrity in a country lacking glamour. He married Jemima Goldsmith, daughter of French-British tycoon James Goldsmith, in 1995. Jemima converted to Islam and the couple moved in with Imran’s family in Lahore. However, they divorced in 2004, allegedly over the difficulties Jemima faced in Pakistan, where she was hounded for her family’s Jewish ancestry and Imran’s obsession with politics.
Imran Khan was arrested by the Islamabad Police in connection with a case relating to his party’s protest outside the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in 2014. The protest had led to clashes between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) workers and the police, resulting in several injuries. The case was registered against Imran Khan and other PTI leaders on the complaint of a senior police officer.
Imran Khan has been a controversial figure in Pakistani politics, having been a vocal critic of the ruling party and the establishment. He had led several protests against the government in the past, calling for electoral reforms and accountability of politicians.
The arrest of Imran Khan has sparked widespread condemnation from his supporters and critics alike. His party, PTI, has also denounced the arrest as politically motivated, with some party leaders accusing the government of using state institutions to silence the opposition.

In recent years, the Pakistani government has been accused of cracking down on opposition figures, journalists, and human rights activists, using draconian laws to suppress dissent. The government has denied these allegations, stating that it is committed to upholding the rule of law and protecting the rights of its citizens.
The arrest of Imran Khan is likely to further fuel tensions between the ruling party and the opposition. It remains to be seen how the situation will unfold in the coming days and weeks, and whether Imran Khan will be released on bail or face trial.
