Rash Driving Costs Six Family Members Lives in Lahore

In a heartbreaking incident in Lahore’s Defence Phase 7, six family members, lost their lives when a speeding car, driven by a teenage boy, collided with their vehicle. The family was returning home after visiting relatives in Shadab Colony on Ferozpur Road when the accident occurred near a roundabout.

Witnesses reported that the young driver had lost control of his vehicle due to reckless driving. According to the police, the collision happened as he zigzagged on the road and the vehicles’ high speeds. The driver crashed with victim’s car after losing control of his car. The collision was severe, causing the victims’ car to overturn and sustain significant damage. Despite prompt response from Rescue 1122 teams, all six victims, identified as Rukhsana, Anabia (three years old), Huzaifa (four months old), Muhammad Hasnain (28), Sajjad (26), and Ayesha (22), passed away from their injuries.

The driver, Afnan Shafqat, initially fled the accident scene but was later caught by the police. The postmortem of the victims was conducted, and the bodies were handed over to the grieving family. Shocked and enraged, relatives of the deceased expressed their sorrow over the sudden loss.

Caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed grief over both incidents and has requested a report from senior police officers.
