PTI Leaders Sanam Javaid Khan and Aliyah Hamza Re-Arrested by Punjab Police

Punjab Police has once again taken into custody Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leaders Sanam Javaid Khan and Aliyah Hamza on Monday. This arrest comes amidst ongoing political tensions and legal proceedings involving the opposition party.

According to details, Sanam and Aliyah were arrested by Mianwali police and subsequently presented before an anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Lahore. During the court session, ATC judge Arshad Javaid approved the police’s request for a one-day remand for both PTI leaders.

Aliyah Hamza, addressing journalists informally within the court premises, voiced her concerns regarding the prevailing economic challenges such as rising inflation and the deteriorating law and order situation across the country. She further criticized Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz and provincial police authorities for their relentless efforts to detain them over the past five days.

Expressing her dismay over the situation, Aliyah pointed out that police officials have been actively surveilling them, indicating a continuous pursuit by the authorities. She urged the ruling administration to shift their focus towards addressing the pressing issues faced by the citizens, rather than engaging in political vendettas. The re-arrest of PTI leaders Sanam Javaid Khan and Aliyah Hamza emphasize the ongoing political turmoil prevalent in the country’s political landscape.
