President Asif Zardari, Army Chief Lead Funeral Prayers of Martyred Soldiers

President Asif Ali Zardari has promised that anyone who commits terrorism in the country will face strong consequences, no matter who they are.

He made this promise while speaking at the funeral of Lieutenant Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Ahmed Bader, held at Rawalpindi’s Chaklala Garrison. President Zardari assured the soldiers guarding the borders that the sacrifices made by their fellow soldiers would not be forgotten.

The funeral was attended by high-ranking officials including Chief of the Army Staff General Asim Munir and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. The two officers, along with five other soldiers, were killed in a terrorist attack on a security forces’ post in Mir Ali, North Waziristan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), a group of six terrorists attacked the post, but Pakistani troops managed to stop their initial attempt. However, the terrorists later detonated an explosive-laden vehicle, causing a building to collapse and resulting in the deaths of the soldiers.

The other soldiers who lost their lives in the attack were identified as Havildar Sabir, Naik Khurshid, Sepoy Nasir, Sepoy Raja, and Sepoy Sajjad.

Despite the tragic loss, President Zardari praised the Pakistan Army’s efforts in fighting terrorism and expressed solidarity with the armed forces. The bodies of the martyred soldiers will be taken to their hometowns and laid to rest with full military honors.
