LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League-Zia (PML-Z) chief Ijazul Haq joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) on Sunday.
As per the media reports, Ijazul Haq, the son of former chief of army staff Ziaul Haq, met Imran Khan in Lahore and announced his joining the Khan-led PTI.
Talking to media after joining the PTI, Ijazul Haq said that he would contest the next election on the PTI ticket. He said that he had been in contact with the former prime minister Imran Khan.
Commenting on the current political situation, he said it was need of the hour to take the country out of crisis. He said that Imran Khan was ready to talk to anyone for the sake of country. He also condemned the firing of tear gas shells in the houses of political workers and leaders.
Earlier in February, former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and ten other ex-Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) MPAs had joined the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
They joined the PTI after Imran Khan had offered Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) to merge with PTI.
