PM Shehbaz Prioritizes skilled-based training for Higher Foreign Remittances

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has emphasized the importance of skilled-based vocational training in boosting foreign remittances and improving the current account deficit in the country. Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony of the central campus of the National University of Technology (NUTECH), the prime minister highlighted the role that skilled human resources can play in the development of the nation.

PM Shehbaz Sharif pledged to prioritize vocational education, as he believes that skilled individuals earn more than unskilled labor, which in turn increases foreign remittances. He stressed that nations prosper when they have a foundation of skilled individuals, making vocational training crucial in today’s era.

The completed NUTECH campus is expected to promote technical and industrial education across the country. PM Shehbaz Sharif recalled his efforts back in 1997 to promote vocational training when there was a lack of comprehensive institutions in this important area of the education sector.

The prime minister also commended the initiatives taken by the Punjab government during his leadership, including the establishment of the Punjab Education Endowment Fund (PEEF). The PEEF allocates Rs2 billion annually to provide scholarships to talented and deserving students based on merit. PM Shehbaz Sharif praised the educational revolution brought about by the PEEF under the leadership of Dr. Amjad Saqib.

Furthermore, PM Shehbaz Sharif mentioned the Danish Schools project, which aimed to bridge the gap between the rich and the poor. He stressed the importance of eliminating discrimination in the education sector in order to fulfill Quaid-e-Azam’s vision of equal educational rights for all.

The prime minister expressed his commitment to providing maximum relief to the people, even with only one month remaining for his government. He also distributed certificates among high-achieving youth in various fields, recognizing their accomplishments.

Minister for Education and Professional Training Rana Tanvir Hussain praised the coalition government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for successfully steering the country out of a deep crisis and putting it on the right path. He expressed hope that the people would vote for the PML-N in the upcoming general elections.

Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Youth Affairs Shaza Fatima stressed the significance of vocational education, emphasizing that it is equally important as formal education. She highlighted PM Shehbaz Sharif’s previous efforts as Chief Minister of Punjab in promoting technical and vocational education in the province.

The event was attended by Minister for Planning, Development, and Special Initiatives Ahsan Iqbal and Information Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb, among others.
