Islamabad, June 8: Federal Minister Mian Javed Latif of the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) has emphasized that his party has no intention to delay the upcoming elections beyond the completion of the constitutional period. In a recent interview with a private news channel, he assured the public that the elections would be conducted as scheduled, with proper allocation of funds for election-related expenses, security arrangements at polling stations, and the availability of transparent result-gathering equipment.
Ensuring Transparency and Security:
Minister Latif emphasized that the government is fully committed to conducting free and fair elections. In the upcoming budget, provisions will be made to allocate funds specifically for the elections. This step demonstrates the government’s dedication to ensuring transparency and safeguarding the democratic process. Adequate security arrangements at polling stations will be put in place to maintain a peaceful environment for voters and prevent any untoward incidents that could jeopardize the electoral process.
Seat Adjustment Formula for Success:
When asked about the PML-N’s strategy for the general elections of 2023 and the possibility of support from coalition partners, Minister Latif revealed that the party plans to utilize a seat adjustment formula. This approach involves strategic cooperation and collaboration with allied parties, such as the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), to maximize the chances of winning seats. The PML-N is proud of its positive working relationships with coalition partners and believes that joint efforts will lead to a successful electoral outcome.
PTI’s Blame Game Agenda:
Addressing the division among leaders of the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party, Minister Latif criticized their persistent use of the blame game agenda over the past four years. He expressed concern that this approach detracts from addressing the real issues faced by the nation and hampers the government’s ability to effectively govern. By focusing on assigning blame rather than finding solutions, the PTI leadership risks eroding public trust and derailing the progress of the country.

The party is determined to ensure transparent elections by allocating sufficient funds for the process, enhancing security arrangements, and providing the necessary equipment for obtaining reliable and accurate results. With the support of its coalition partners, including the PPP, the PML-N aims to achieve electoral success through a seat adjustment formula. As for the PTI, Minister Latif urges the party’s leadership to move away from the blame game and focus on addressing the pressing issues that demand their attention. The people of Pakistan look forward to witnessing a fair and inclusive electoral process that will shape the nation’s future.
