Pakistan, US vow to expand bandwidth of their relations

Washington: Pakistan Ambassador to the United States Masood Khan held meeting with Matthew Hughes, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the World Affairs Council of America (WACA), to discuss the strong and longstanding partnership between both the nations.

Ambassador Khan expressed his appreciation for the role that WACA played in promoting educational initiatives and programs to diverse audiences across the United States.

Founded in 1918, WACA is the largest nonprofit international affairs organization in the United States, comprising 93 autonomous and nonpartisan councils across 40 states.

The diplomat also highlighted the importance of linkages between academics, educational institutions, and diaspora to create a solid foundation for long-lasting relations.

Both sides expressed a strong desire to expand the bandwidth of their relationship, with a particular focus on enhanced cooperation in non-security areas. The Ambassador briefed Hughes on the current state of Pakistan-US bilateral relations and noted the huge potential for collaboration between WACA and similar platforms in Pakistan.

Hughes, for his part, briefed the Ambassador on WACA’s mission and its leading programs, and expressed a willingness to expand collaboration with counterparts in Pakistan.
