Pahalgam Attack: Pakistan Rejects India Pahalgam Attack Claims for ‘Fabrications’
ISLAMABAD, July 30, 2025: Pakistan’s Foreign Office (FO) has strongly rejected Indian leaders’ “fabricated claims” about Pakistan’s alleged involvement in the Pahalgam attack, urging New Delhi to stop acting as “judge, jury, and executioner.”
In a statement on Wednesday, FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said Pakistan “categorically rejects the baseless assertions and provocative claims” made by Indian leaders during the Lok Sabha debate on the so-called Operation Sindoor.
‘India Must Stop Distorting Facts’
Responding to remarks by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the FO said India’s narrative was an attempt to distort facts and glorify conflict for domestic political gain.
Amit Shah had claimed that Indian forces recovered Pakistani voter identity cards and “locally made chocolates” from three men killed in a gun battle in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), linking them to the Pahalgam attack. Modi also dismissed US President Donald Trump’s assertion that he had brokered peace during the May conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
“The world knows that India attacked Pakistan without any verifiable evidence or credible investigation into the Pahalgam attack,” Shafqat said.
‘Pakistan Neutralized Indian Jets’
The FO further stated that India’s “unprovoked attacks” on May 6-7, 2025, resulted in the martyrdom of innocent civilians rather than the alleged targeting of terrorist infrastructure.
“India failed to achieve any of its strategic objectives. On the other hand, Pakistan’s resounding success in neutralising the Indian fighter jets and military targets is an indisputable fact,” Shafqat asserted.
The FO also noted that India had refused Pakistan’s immediate offer for a transparent and independent probe into the incident.

Rejects ‘Operation Mahadev’ Narrative
Shafqat dismissed India’s recent allegations regarding Operation Mahadev, calling them fabricated and timed to coincide with the Lok Sabha debate.
“Is it a mere coincidence that the alleged perpetrators of the Pahalgam attack were killed at the start of the Lok Sabha debate?” he questioned.

The spokesperson also criticised India’s attempts to set a “new normal” in bilateral relations, warning that Pakistan would “forcefully counter any future aggression.”
‘Nuclear Blackmail’ Allegations Called Misleading
Addressing India’s claims that Pakistan engaged in “nuclear blackmail,” Shafqat said the allegation was a self-serving attempt to mask India’s own escalatory behavior.
“It is well known that Pakistan deterred India through its conventional capabilities, affirming that discipline and restraint remain its guiding principles,” he added.
Indus Waters Treaty Disregard
The FO also expressed concern over India’s decision to hold the Indus Waters Treaty in abeyance, calling it a violation of international law.
“Instead of taking pride in a unilateral and illegal move, India must immediately fulfill its treaty obligations,” Shafqat said.
Pakistan’s Commitment to Peace
Concluding the statement, Shafqat reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to peace and dialogue.
“As a responsible country, Pakistan remains committed to peace, regional stability, and meaningful dialogue for the resolution of all outstanding issues, including the core dispute of Jammu and Kashmir,” he said.
