Pakistan Rejects Claims of Involvement in Ukraine War, Seeks Clarification

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has strongly dismissed recent allegations suggesting that its nationals are involved in the ongoing Ukraine war, calling such claims “baseless and unfounded.”

In an official statement released on Tuesday, the Foreign Office clarified that no credible or verifiable evidence has been presented by Ukrainian authorities to support these accusations. It further noted that Pakistan has not received any formal communication from the Ukrainian government on the matter.

The statement follows remarks made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, who alleged that foreign “mercenaries” from various countries—including Pakistan, China, and African nations—were present on the battlefield in northeastern Ukraine. Zelensky vowed retaliation, raising concerns over the internationalization of the conflict.

Responding to these assertions, Pakistan’s Foreign Office stated that the government would seek a formal explanation from Ukrainian officials to clarify the nature and origin of these allegations.

Pakistan reaffirmed its longstanding position on the Ukraine conflict, emphasizing its commitment to peaceful resolution through dialogue and diplomacy. The Foreign Office reiterated Pakistan’s adherence to the principles of the United Nations Charter and highlighted the importance of respecting international norms and sovereignty.

Officials stressed that Pakistan has consistently advocated for an end to hostilities and continues to urge all parties involved to seek a negotiated settlement to the crisis.
