Over 900 Killed in Iran During 12‑Day War with Israel, State Media Reports

Iranian state media has reported that 934 people were killed in Iran during a 12‑day conflict with Israel, according to the country’s judiciary spokesman. Among the fatalities were at least 132 women and 38 children, signaling a toll that includes large numbers of civilians. The same reports indicate that Israel suffered 28 fatalities during the retaliatory strikes—though casualty updates from both countries remain contested.

While this intense conflict ended with a U.S.-brokered ceasefire on June 24, airstrikes in Gaza have since resumed, complicating hopes for a wider calm. Iran’s president, Masoud Pezeshkian, has called the pause a testament to “heroic resistance,” yet Tehran has also cut cooperation with the IAEA and condemned ongoing inspections as biased.

The conflict, described as “12 days of war” by analysts and international media, featured mutual strikes on military and nuclear facilities. Iranian funerals for top commanders and nuclear scientists underscored the severity of the losses. Despite this, both nations insist they achieved their objectives—Israel claiming to have crippled Iran’s nuclear infrastructure and Iran vowing continued support for its nuclear sovereignty.

As of now, the ceasefire holds, but regional tensions remain elevated. Iran’s suspension of nuclear agency collaboration, combined with ongoing strikes in Gaza, suggest the peace may remain fragile. With 900 killed Iran 12-day war dominating headlines, the world watches to see if diplomacy will hold—or if another spark could reignite conflict.
