New York Times Square Hosts Muslims Praying Taraweeh

In a historic moment, Muslims in New York City prayed taraweeh for the second time in the iconic Times Square. The event, organized by local Muslims, aimed to celebrate Ramadan in one of the most prominent locations in the heart of the city.

The organizers of the event said that Muslims living in the United States wanted to show others that Islam is a peaceful religion and to clarify misconceptions about their faith.

They emphasized that they wanted to explain their religion to all those who didn’t know what it was about, and that Islam is a religion of peace.

The Muslim holy month of Ramadan began at sunrise on Saturday, and the faithful observe fasting from dawn to dusk during this time. Ramadan is an important period of spiritual reflection, self-improvement, and devotion for Muslims around the world.

Muslims follow a lunar calendar, and a moon-sighting methodology can lead to different countries declaring the start of Ramadan a day or two apart. During Ramadan, colorful lanterns and lights are traditionally strung throughout narrow alleys and around mosques in many Middle Eastern countries.

The organizers of the Times Square event hope to promote interfaith harmony and understanding among the diverse communities in New York City. They emphasized the importance of tolerance and acceptance, saying that everyone has the right to practice their religion freely and openly.

The event drew a large number of people from different backgrounds and religions, who watched as Muslims prayed and performed religious rituals in the heart of the bustling city.

The organizers expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share their faith with others and to promote a message of peace and harmony.
