‘Najam-Abuzar audio leak’: PTI gives clean chit to its candidate for PP-137

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Senior Vice President Fawad Chaudhry on Sunday said that no evidence of corruption was found in the alleged audio leak featuring Najam Saqib and PTI candidate Abuzar Chadhar for PP-137 for the upcoming elections in Punjab.

The PTI leaders said that a complete probe was conducted in the alleged audio leak of the PTI candidate Abuzar Chadhar and Najam Saqib, son of former chief justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar. The PTI gave clean chit to its candidate Chadhar after the in-house findings.

Fawad Chaudhry urged the judiciary to launch a detailed probe into leaking of the audios. Who was recording the these audios?, questioned the PTI leader.

Hackers have once again targeted former CJP Saqib Nisar, leaking a phone call allegedly featuring his son, Najam Saqib, discussing a deal brokered by his father to secure a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party ticket for an upcoming election candidate. The leaked audio consists of two separate conversations between Najam Saqib and Abuzar Chadhar, as well as another unidentified person known as Mian Uzair, discussing the PTI’s recent issuance of provincial assembly tickets. It should be noted that PTI has recently received criticism and withdrawn tickets for 21 constituencies, opting to field fresh candidates including scions of political families and former members of other parties such as the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), or Pakistan Muslim League Quaid (PML-Q).
