NADRA introduces application status tracking feature on Pak-ID app
The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has rolled out another landmark digital reform as NADRA introduces application status tracking feature on Pak-ID app, revolutionizing how citizens manage their identity documents in Pakistan.
With this latest feature, citizens no longer need to stand in long queues or make repeated visits to NADRA centres to inquire about their application progress. Instead, they can now track their CNIC, B-Form, and Family Registration Certificate (FRC) applications directly through the upgraded Pak-ID mobile app.
Officials at NADRA highlighted that this step will not only save citizens valuable time but will also strengthen Pakistan’s shift toward digital governance and citizen-friendly services. The service is especially beneficial for overseas Pakistanis, who previously faced difficulties accessing identity-related services from abroad. Now, they can conveniently submit applications, track their progress, and receive documents without returning to Pakistan.
The upgraded Pak-ID app (version 4.4.3) has been designed to offer a complete end-to-end digital experience. Apart from tracking, it includes biometric verification, document uploads, secure fee payments, and CNIC modification services. Once approved, updated identity documents are delivered directly to the applicant’s registered address, making the process faster and more reliable than ever.

Earlier, NADRA had already reformed the CNIC modification process, allowing citizens to make changes without visiting physical offices. Now, with the status tracking system, users can remain informed about every stage of their application journey — from submission to delivery.
Experts believe this digital innovation is part of Pakistan’s broader vision of modernizing governance systems, promoting transparency, and reducing red tape. By making NADRA’s services accessible through smartphones, the government is empowering millions of citizens with convenience, efficiency, and accessibility.
This feature is expected to greatly improve the public’s trust in NADRA’s services while also setting a new benchmark for how national identity systems can adapt to the digital era.
