- The PTI Chairman has says that the people came out despite arrests of 2000 workers and barriers on the ways to the venue.
Lahore: Former prime minister and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan on Sunday thanked Lahorites for supporting his party and taking part in the gathering at Minar-e-Pakistan on Saturday night.
Taking to Twitter, Imran Khan wrote, “Despite cabal of crooks locking down Lahore (see map) & arresting 2000 of our workers, people of Lahore came in huge numbers to make our 6th Minar-i-Pakistan jalsa a great success. I want to especially thank my Lahorites for not letting me down yet again. Proud of you,”.
A large number of the party workers and supporters took part in the rally of the PTI on Saturday night. The Punjab government sealed roads leading to Minar-e-Pakistan by placing containers and barricades to stop the PTI workers and supporters from going there.
The police also launched crackdown against the PTI leaders and workers in different cities to arrest them to fail the rally.
The Sialkot motorway to Lahore was also blocked due to which the citizens suffered the problems.
