Massive explosion near airport causes fire in Uzbekistan capital

In Tashkent, Uzbekistan, there was a big explosion at a warehouse near the airport that caused a lot of problems. One teenage boy died, and 162 people got injured. The teenage boy lost his life when a window frame fell on him. The explosion was so strong that it even started a fire and broke windows in nearby apartment buildings.

Even though this explosion happened, the airport in Tashkent, seemed to be working normally, at least according to a website that tracks flights. However, there was a notice saying that one of the runways at the airport would be closed for a while on Thursday, but it didn’t say why.

People shared videos and pictures on social media that showed flames shooting up into the night sky. There was a huge cloud of smoke above a warehouse, but nobody knows for sure why the explosion happened.

To figure out what caused it, a special lab was set up at the place where it happened, and experts are investigating. The emergencies ministry said they were working hard to make the fire area smaller, and they said they had everything under control.

According to a social media post by Daryo, someone called the Ministry of Emergency Situations to report a fire caused by a big explosion at one of the warehouses in Tashkent’s Sergeli district. Firefighters and rescue teams quickly got there and trying to put out the fire.
