The latest reports say that the man has committed suicide due to sky-rocking inflation and poverty.
Karachi: After failing to find any work to support his family, a man poisoned his wife and children and ended up his own life, the police said on Friday.
The victim was identified was identified as Azhar who lost his job in a local factory.
According to the rescue workers, the family was living in a rented house in Sujrani Town Sector-10 in Karachi.
The rescue workers said that the man firstly poisoned his wife and children and then committed suicide. They said they reached the spot soon after getting the information and shifted the bodies to a nearby hospital.
A two-year old girl was also among the dead while the doctors were putting efforts to save lives of three others, they added.
“Azhar’s family was living in a rented house,” said a man living in the neighborhood. He added that he was out of job and was struggling hard to find some work but he could not do so which caused him huge mental stress. He tried hard to find another job to continue the livelihood of the family, but after failing, he attempted suicide after poisoning his wife and children.
A similar incident took place in Punjab’s Ahmed Pur Sharqia where a man tied his daughter his daughter with him and jumped into Abbasia Canal. The rescue operation was started to find their bodies but it not yet clear whether their bodies were recovered or not.
However, the reports suggested that the man committed suicide due to poverty and sky-rocketing inflation.
It may be mentioned here that the edibles and the items of the daily use went out of the reach of the common man due to record high prices. Even the flour price was so high that a common man could not afford it to feed himself and his family two-time meal.
