In 2017, India hoisted a 360-foot-tall tricolor flag, and in response, Pakistan raised a 400-foot-tall flag on its own Independence Day. Not to be outdone, India then erected a 418-foot-long flag. Now, Pakistan aims to surpass all previous records by raising a 500-foot-high flag in Lahore.

The construction of three new underpasses will begin on July 17, aiming to reduce traffic congestion and improve transportation in the city. The reconstruction of Walton Road is also on the agenda, demonstrating the government’s commitment to enhancing the city’s infrastructure.
While the construction of tall flags may capture attention and represent national unity, it is essential to find a balance between symbolism and practicality.
