Karachi: Three die as car collides with trailer near Bahria Town

A tragic road accident occurred near Bahria Town, Karachi, after a speeding car collided with a trailer, leaving three members of a family dead on the spot and one person critically injured. The incident took place in the early hours of Thursday, creating panic among passersby who immediately alerted emergency services.

Officials from the highway rescue teams and Rescue 1122 reached the site within minutes and began efforts to extricate the victims trapped inside the badly damaged vehicle. According to the Rescue 1122 spokesperson, three individuals died on the spot due to the severity of the impact. They were identified as Sita, the mother, and her two sons, Ashok and Sahil. The bodies were shifted to the nearby medical facility for legal formalities.

The father, identified as Sanjay, survived the collision but suffered critical injuries. Rescue officials provided him with immediate medical assistance at the scene before shifting him to the hospital for further treatment. Authorities said the vehicle was completely crushed, indicating the intensity of the collision with the heavy trailer.

Police have initiated an investigation to determine the cause of the crash, while the trailer and vehicle were removed from the road to restore traffic flow. The tragic accident has once again highlighted the growing number of high-speed collisions on Karachi’s outskirts, particularly along the routes connecting the city to Bahria Town and other newly developed residential areas.

Earlier this week, similar concerns were raised after a 12-year-old boy was k!lled in Korangi following a tanker collision, with the driver taken into custody.
