The cycle of violence following the murder of Ameer Balaj Tipu, a well-known figure in Lahore’s criminal world and owner of a goods transport business, continues unabated. On Monday, Javed Butt, the brother-in-law of Teefi Butt—the main suspect in the case—was shot dead in Lahore’s Muslim Town, as reported.
Javed Butt, who lived in Allama Iqbal Town, was attacked while sitting in his car. His wife was injured in the shooting, but their daughter was unharmed.
This incident follows the killing of another suspect in the Ameer Balaj Tipu murder case. On August 23, Ahsan Shah, a suspect and close associate of Balaj, was killed by his own accomplices. The CIA team was transporting Shah to Shadbagh for questioning when his accomplices ambushed the team. Shah was taken to the hospital with injuries but died before reaching it. He was accused of tipping off key suspects, including Teefi Butt, about Balaj Tipu’s location at a wedding.
Ameer Balaj Tipu was murdered in February 2024 in a targeted attack near Thokar Niaz Beg during a wedding ceremony. An armed assailant shot him on the spot.
Balaj Tipu was the son of Arif Amir, also known as Tipu Truckanwala, who was murdered in 2010 at the Allama Iqbal International Airport parking lot.
