Jahangir Khan Tareen, along with a group of like-minded individuals, is reportedly considering the formation of a new political party in light of emerging political realities in the country. Tareen, and his close associates have completed initial preparations for this endeavor.
Prominent political figures from South Punjab, including districts such as Layyah, Vehari, and Bukkhar, as well as leaders from Balochistan and Interior Sindh, have approached Jahangir Khan Tareen expressing their interest in joining the new party. In recent days, Tareen has held meetings with several lawmakers from the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) in Southern Punjab.
Earlier this week, Jahangir Tareen, a disgruntled leader of the PTI, expressed deep sadness and anger over the vandalism of Jinnah House on May 9. He emphasized that such actions had never been witnessed before and called for unity among the people. Tareen urged those responsible for the act to reflect upon their actions, expressing his dismay at the unthinkable destruction of Jinnah House, a historic landmark symbolizing the legacy of Pakistan’s founder, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Tareen stated that incidents like the vandalization of Jinnah House would not be allowed to occur again. He expressed his resolve to stand firm against those who aim to jeopardize the nation’s heritage and undermine its shared identity. Tareen called for severe consequences for those responsible for such incidents.

It should be noted that Jahangir Tareen was disqualified in 2017 by a three-judge bench of the Supreme Court. The court, accepting a petition filed by Hanif Abbasi, ruled Tareen’s disqualification on grounds of dishonesty under Article 62(1)(f) of the Constitution and Section 99 of the Representation of People Act (ROPA). Tareen’s review petition was also rejected by the same bench on September 27, 2018.
